Dr. Yakub Olajide Basorun is a distinguished agricultural development specialist with over 35 years of experience spanning academia, public service, and agribusiness leadership. Rising through senior technical and administrative roles, he served as Permanent Secretary in key Lagos State ministries, including Agriculture, Overseas Affairs & Investment, and Wealth Creation & Employment, where he led innovative agricultural programs, sector investment analyses, and extension reforms.

Currently the CEO of Rhyss Farm Ltd., he oversees an integrated agribusiness operation producing poultry, aquaculture, and crops. A respected soil scientist and policy expert, Dr. Basorun has published 19 technical papers, holds a patented soil science innovation, and is widely recognized for his enduring contributions to agricultural development, capacity building, and rural transformation in Nigeria.
